Please complete the pledge form linked below to share your giving intentions. While we accept online donations, we recognize donors will likely want to make more significant gifts via check, a donor advised fund, stock transfer, an IRA charitable rollover/qualified charitable distribution* (see below), etc. All pledges made in advance of the Minnetonka Yacht Club membership vote in May 2025 are contingent on the membership’s approval to proceed with the project. If the project is approved, gifts must be received by July 1, 2025.
To recognize your contribution, donors have access to: naming rights to the building and its important spaces, special event invitations, and insider updates.
Lake Minnetonka Sailing School is a registered 501(c)3 organization. A fund has been set up at LMSS to accept donations for the Lighthouse Island Development Project. Your donation is tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law. Contact your tax advisor for further information.
* Qualified Charitable Distributions: Federal law allows people age 70½ or older to make direct transfers up to $108,000 per year per person to charitable organizations from their Individual Retirement Account (IRA), without the withdrawal being treated as taxable income. The withdrawal can be counted toward your Required Minimum Distribution. Contact your IRA administrator to make a charitable rollover gift.
